Hi Guys .
I have recently purchased my first Italian sports car .
It is a 2003 Maserati Spyder GT 4200 in blue with biscuit interior .
It has a manual gearbox with about 44K on the clock .
I spent ages chasing a TVR Chimaera I had set my heart on but after 6 months of the dealer giving me the run around I thought enough was enough and started to look around , I went through the Porsche phase and nearly pulled the trigger on a Boxster S but then , out of the blue I noticed the a Spyder parked up in my home town and I was blown away .
After some research I found a car that ticked all my boxes , V8 , convertible , nice colour , needed TLC so good price , manual and low miles .
A deal was struck and I went to view .
The dealer was in Loughborough, about 100 miles from my home , when I got there my first thoughts were , wow , what a gorgeous car and great colour combo , I was part X ing a VX220 so the Spyder looked huge to what I was expecting especially after driving the VX .
Funnily enough the seat was really close to the steering wheel and we couldn’t get it to adjust any further back , so the journey back was agony to say the least .
When I finally got home I put the Car in the garage and limped into the house , I couldn’t bear to look at it , took me about a week to start walking properly again , luckily we were going on holiday a few days later so that gave me the chance to forgive her and return for a fresh start .
That was about a week ago , so far I have sorted the seat and started removing the goo from the vents all with the help of this great forum .
Today I am going to tackle the roof , apparently it doesn’t open properly , but armed with info from you guys I am going to have a go .
So just thought I had better introduce myself and thank you all for your help so far .
I look forward to being part of a great group of people .
Cheers .
