Morning all
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member, hello!
I was a previously registered member from about 5 years ago but my email address has changed & I couldn't reset my details.

Moving on swiftly, I have just bought a Black QP5 in Carbonio Nero with Nero interior & calipers.
Ordinarily I wouldn't buy a black car as it just hides the lines or curves of the car.......but it was local, it was cheap(er) & I wanted (needed?) one!

Lucky for me it's not my first foray into Italian hand built exotica super car awesomeness or Maserati for short!

Previous beasts were a Silver QP4 with a manual gearbox, road tripped back home from Ireland & loved the experience.
That was followed by a Blue QP5 with the Duoselect 'box & a running problem. New knock sensors sorted that out quickly which I posted as a DIY guide.
Now I have this one which is the automatic version. It needed tidying up which I done over the last couple of months.

Pictures if you please (pictures if you don't!)

Arrivederci

That's real commitment to the QP line! It will be interesting to hear you compare and contrast the QPVs. I loved my GTS but also see the appeal of the earlier cars. Will have to have another QPV one day....

Welcome. Great to see your Maser history... the trim on your old blue one was gorgeous.

Welcome back then. Nowt wrong with black on black. We can be twins. The QP4 was what got me interested many moons ago. I am in Guilsborough. I see you are on or near Longstork Road. I am over that way once a month and Joseph Morris :excellent:

Thank you for the warm welcome gents, appreciate it.

I sat in a QP IV at the NEC Motor show way back in the day & promised myself I'd get one. 3 children, 2 houses & a business later I managed to make good on my promise! I loved the styling & the heritage but that Alcantara roof lining was just pure decadence!

I didn't want to get a V until I owned a IV. I wanted to understand the lineage by owning both.

My preference between the V's is simple, I much preferred the ferocity of the Duoselect up-shift on a hard charge. But the auto box is much smoother when I'm just cruising along. Which is very rare! I preferred the colour combination on the blue one but the black one has a sunroof which I love!

So I join a national(international?) forum & I get a reply from a neighbour, awesome! I'll meet you outside the butchers but not on a Saturday morning, that's a queue I don't need to join!!

Hang on. When did you say you had a ghibli too? To be fair you are better with the locals. Some of the far flung lot are a bit argumentative to be honest!

Every 38 years, not so bad!!
Seriously, very well played but will need to score more with that much domination. I suspect a repeat of that against the French and Scotland would lose to 3 mins of Gallic flair, having not put the game to bed.

I did indeed buy the QP IV only sold it a couple of years ago when we moved to Ireland, I think another member on here took it on but not sure if they still have it.
