Forgot the tunnel....went to the UK last time over the water and was very happy to see "the White Cliffs of Dover" myself for the first time from the deck of the ferrie.
I can absolutely understand your feelings, as this discussion is going on here as well.
But time and time again we are told by experts and politicians, especially Holland has gained a lot by the euro, while every common citizen sais/feels the opposite.
I am afraid europe will not come over the current problems and some very unpleasant steps will have to be taken.
The common civillian wil have to pay for all of the miscalculations and stupidities of all those experts and politicians i am afraid.

Ferry to be honest always feels to me the best way to travel abroad , it gives a sense of occasion to the start of something epic , whereas the tunnel is a lot quicker, more convenient and less traumatic for our expensive toys but a tad boring if im honest
