New to the GS and still getting used to the foibles.....

My GS has the hill start function. On my previous 4200 this was lost with a software upgrade.

Am I missing a similar upgrade for the GS or is this usual?

Thanks in advance,

Em.

Hi Em,

Mine only seems to do it if you press the brake pedal quite hard, you can usually feel it when it's working, the pedal goes fairly hard, like when you press the pedal with the engine off.

Yes that's exactly it Pete, only when fully stationary and foot firmly on the brake pedal. Resistance at 'take-off' whether level or inclined.

The hill-start detects if you are resting on an incline and engages the brake for a moment to allow you time to get your foot from brake to throttle without rolling downhill.
Should not operate on level ground.
Makes no difference how hard you press brake pedal.
(2002 cars did not have this feature, all Gransports with CC transmission have it from factory as far as I know)
