Guys im sure Grandad Urby will be on at some stage in the near future re his bike ride thing to Barcelona , i really would like to surprise the old git by a offering a real mansized donation from the sportsmaserati members , its all in a good cause for charity but this is a mammoth task especially for a 60 odd year old , so lets if possible give him a mammoth donation when the time comes

I'll second that. I cycle myself and I know just how much of a challenge this is going to be, physically and mentally. Completely in awe of Urby for taking it on, particularly for the reasons he's doing it. He had an unwelcome setback when his bike broke, which cost him 3 or 4 weeks training, which only makes the task harder still. I hope he checks in to let you know what's ahead of him. It's truly a life challenge, and one that deserves our support in whatever form that takes.

When I spoke to Urby he was thinking donations would be made directly to his chosen charities rather than to him, so I don't think he was thinking of setting up his own donation page, but if we could link to those charities from the forum and keep a running total of forum donations, I'm sure Urby would be thrilled.
