Not seen this before, they seem to like it alot, suppose the soft initial setup suited them:

Track it all day without hearing or smelling the brakes? They weren't trying hard enough!

Ooh, that body roll. Reminds me just why I dropped mine.

Good to watch though.

Some people do not seem to know anything about Maserati's in general, for example, on this exotic supercar forum i browse on called Team Speed, there was a thread on there about a Gransport, first response was "bad gearbox", i felt like saying, shut up, do some research and have a back up to support a powerful point like that. In case you wanted to know, a Ferrari owner posted that, bloody typical.

Neat video.
Here is questions for all of you with a cambiocorsa gear box.
When you park the car...do you leave the gear box in first gear or shift to nuetural?

I suppose it does depend on what you are putting it up against Adam...I found the GS rear box very slow to change compared to some I've driven so I can see why not everyone rates it highly but you are right bad gearbox it isn't........

I used to leave it in first, only because it kicks the car out of gear when you start the car and the handbrake being rubbish. I never leave a car in reverse, just through habit. Would rather see what I am going to lurch forward into, rather than backwards.

When I turn the motor off the indicator says "1" so I assumed the gearbox stays in first gear until stated again. Like a standard gear box...you can shut the motor down with the gearbox in gear or shift to neural then turn the motor off. The reason you would shut the motor off with the gear box in gear is to prevent the car from rolling down hill.

(I lived in San Francisco many years...with the hills in that city you pulled the parking brake on hard and shut the motor with the transmission in gear...loved that city when I could find a place to park.)

I now pull both paddles to get the indicator to read "N"...then shut the motor off...thinking that the car will not role.

Nothing in the owners book...I hoped someone in this group would have an insight.

Yup...the 4200 handbrake has the same hold on the car as you would have on an eel in a bucket of olive oil....ie none....................patently useless!!

Whilst I was getting handbrake fixed and had mechanism partly removed, I parked in 1st....worked fine.

Hi Stoner, not sure whether it's the same for the US cars, but this is covered on page 124 of the OM under the heading "stopping the car" (text in red).

Basically leave the car in 1st when parking. Not doing so, though not (necessarily) dangerous, is heralded by an extended and somewhat annoying series of beeps. (well on the 4200 at least)

As for living in SF, I'm jealous. My favourite city and with Mrs Tee willing, the city we will retire to.

Emtee,
Thanks for pointing me to the right page...but its on page 127 in the US OM.
Bottom line is that I can use the cambiocorsa transmission as I would a standard 6 speed gearbox.
Stop it in first gear...it stays in first gear.
I thought the electric-hydralic clutch would shift to N when the motor shut down...now I know that is not what happens.
Thanks!

As emtee says above about the 42, in the GS, if you don't leave it in gear it has a small tantrum (bleeps). Personally, I always leave cars in gear....learnt that at an early age when the car I was sharing with my sister rolled down the driveway and into the garage! From then on, any car I drive is left in 1st, GS included.
