Dear collective wisdom

had a bit of CEL action whilst stuck in traffic this am, car seems to run fine

Had a similar episode a couple of weeks ago, which disappeared with a battery reset. In between episodes I've done a couple of 120 mile round trips with no problem.

Just got hold of an OBD scanner, the port on the car is not immediately obvious, anyone able to help?

Many thanks Parisien

Hooked up and getting two codes p2187 and p2189. Can't see these on the list I found on this forum but google came up with "too lean at idle"

Looks like I'll need it looked at, vacuum leak? MAF?

Could be a lambda possibly

I'm in oxford and have a non-manufacturers warrany, would Dick Lovett be a reasonable choice?

Cheers

Hi Simon,
My OBD software also shows P2187 and P2189 as being generic codes for 'System too Lean at Idle'.
Should probably check with the warranty people to see if you are covered for a diagnostic session,
not sure how much Dick Lovett would charge, I have only dealt with their parts manager Alan, and he is a very good guy...
independents usually charge about an hours labour for a diagnostic session, so anywhere from £65 - £75,
Regards,
Enzo.

Thanks Enz

It seems to be intermittent, I erased the codes and will wait for them to reappear before aking it to DL

Yes Simonc, Lovetts have a good reputation, but check what their rate is and also ask if they will match what a local indie quotes for the same diagnostic work....every little helps!

I got these codes after fitting the FD ECM first time. Apparently the GS is sensitive.
