I'm thinking about getting my wheels changed to silver.

Can someone tell me if my wheels were an option at purchase? I suspect not and would like them to be original.

Thanks.

not the best pic but look like original 32 wheels to me and yes, they would probably have been silver when new like below.

I'm fairly sure that original 3200 wheels only came in silver. AC wheels which are the same as early 4200 wheels came in grigio mercury only.

Pretty sure you are correct Mark. Fwiw, I now think the original wheels in silver look best, particularly with dark cars. The AC/42 wheels actually look better in the gun metal IMO. That said, wheel colour is a personal thing.

Yes originally silver....but...leave them dark as I think it looks stunning on your car.

Hi.

I meant to ask if the colour of the wheels is original not the actual wheels.

I like the dark but in silver the wheels look bigger and suit the car better. Certainly true if you compare our photos.

DSCN5362.jpgi think silver and dark wheels is one of those Marmite things you generally love one and hate the other. My car was a later model and came with the same wheels the early 4200's had and i am firmly in the solver camp. i think however you should follow your taste and have what you think looks good because if you sell it the likely buyers will also either really like dark wheels or silver wheels! and at the end of the day if some one buys your car and does not like the dark wheels its not that hard to change it.

I do love the later 4200 wheels on a 3200, especially as my car is the same colour as yours.... the rare Verde Mistral, such an elegant colour it suites the 3200GT perfectly!
