Can you please tell me where to look on a 3200 to find the sticker or plate that shows the paint code for the car?

Thanks

There should be a silver sticker on the underside of the bonnet - from memory it's in the bottom left corner near the bonnet strut. What colour is your car?

Thanks for the information, I am buying a car in the UK and from the pictures it looks Verde Mexico, but I want the owner to check so that I can be sure.
All part of the fun of buying a car from the other side of the world ;-)

It is a private sale in Bath, I am having it inspected by Steve Lee at http://www.alternative-vehicle-inspections.co.uk/ he was reccomended to me by an importer in Australia.
But if anyone on the forum is close to Bath and would like to take a look at it for me it would be really appreciated.

Probably a bit late now, but it might be better to have it inspected by someone who knows their Masers inside out. Would he know the feeling of end-float in a 3200, or does he know that a difficult manual change from 1st to 2nd might not be there after 10 mins of driving? I used to work in Bath until very recently, otherwise I could have had a peep for you during a lunchtime. But Pete is not so far away, as he says.

Do you have a registration number or any other details. I sold my 3200 in Bath a few years ago, it's more than likely living somewhere else now but you never know. It wasn't a bad car mechanically but there were hints of bubbling appearing on the wheel arches, so it had to go.

Thanks for your concern, the points you raise are valid. The person that I am using was recommended to by a company that regularly imports 3200's to Australia and he does all their inspections, so I am happy that he knows what he is looking at. I have heard of the dreaded end float problem and fortunately the car that I am looking at is an automatic and not as susceptible. This car has only recently moved to Bath from Edinburgh but it has spent much of its life outdoors so I am concerned about the state of the body work. When the inspection has been done I will certainly take up Pete's generous offer to take a look for me.

Ross a number of us have imported cars to Aust. Happy to share the experience with you if you want. You can PM me for my private email address. As per others I would recommend using someone who can get the car on a hoist and use the right equipment. Yes you will pay more but parts and labour once the car is here are very expensive so the extra spent now could prove to be a good investment. You should get specific details of what will be covered in the check Blythe man you mention.
