Looks good Palmball. The auto 4.7 has the Sport bypass valves in the exhaust but they only open at 3.5k revs.

I've heard they're obscenely expensive to run too. Are you getting 12mpg? That's meant to be about as good as you'll get in a 4.7. Gonna be a while till I can afford to run one.

Guess I will find out. The GranTurismo has lower servicing costs and better residuals than the 4200 which should help. Plus I will not have a clutch to replace. Also I would be more likely to consider not taking an extended warranty after three years as the dealers say they go wrong a lot less. Fuel will be sub £4k PA and depreciation will be over £10k pa so the latter is more important. I understand the impact on the used market once the cars are six or so years old mind.

Great research as always P. Need the confirmation as we did with the 3200/4200/GS pads, but is sounds like you've put us on the right path. Thanks for putting in the leg-work.

As always a pleasure Miles......though some don't rate Textar pads...seems a bit strange though Brembos on rear....and Textars on front.....need some cross checking etc........find it hard to believe a 1/10th of the price!!!!

I get 18-20mpg from mine according to the trip computer. However, if I reset it and then go for a spirited run it gets into single figures :)

I think it's called carbon off setting.... Sell 20,000 solar panels and you can pretty much burn what you like, rain forests, polar bears, dolphins, White tigers, anything really :)

Me and my mate came up with this theory whilst doing €2k of fuel in his 56' Princess going from Palma to Ibiza.... God bless the tree huggers!!

\The above is all tongue in cheek, solar panels currently represent one of the top investments today giving a return of 8-12%, tax free, index linked, guaranteed for 25 years. Whilst it is a shrewd investment, it does not give you licence to set light to endangered species.

I do 8k pa in my Maser and get some gentle banter from mates who do 60k pa in their repmobiles about my car's CO2 - do the maths on usage!

I have been looking at Solar PV. The feed in tariff is good but I thought that the grants and loans had been withdrawn?

Indeed, the more people complain, the more I blip the throttle!

It will be fun putting my GTS Auto into Sport and getting it over 3.5k revs whilst going past Fabias'!
