People are entitled to an opinion

and even if it goes against the grain they have a right to voice it and for people to say "well thats your opinion and you have a right to voice it right or wrong" or " i disagree because..."
If a person says dont drive the car with a cel lit as the engine will blow up!......do you ignore this because you have not experienced this yourself?
Well no because it makes scense based on there experience and you dont chance it.
Now i am sure there are some real honest people out there who do exactly what they say when they say it but there are also a lot of people who hid behind statements of good intentions and in fact are going to sell you duff gear or who will say "theres nothing wrong with that car but we need the money so lets say the brakes are gone and advise costs at £200, then we will "find" some other stuff and bill for £350"
I have had experience of very genuine people and also some real sharks and to be absolutly honest the sharks outweight the genuine because this is what we remember the most..when we were stitched up by a person or persons.
In the last 8 months i could have been ripped off for over £80,000 by just 3 people. were they in the slightest bit worried about there actions ?...No not at all.
So please allow people to have an opinion regardless of whether it agrees with yours or not or this forum will become a group of YES MEN all trying not to disagree with the other members.

this forum exists because of the negative experiences people have just as much as the possative ones regarding maserati

P.s if the mods wish to revoke my membership then that is fine as i can see that i am negative a lot and i guess that means i have a lot of negative experiences.
I have started to use the forum less not because i dont like to read what people are writing but because i can see that i am erring on the side of caution all the time.
But then as i have said.. people try it on with me a LOT.

I am not aware of the history which has made you post this mate but I am all for us posting our opinions as long as we accept that we will differ at times. It would be boring if we always agreed.

As the owner of a manual 4200 I accept that most people prefer CC but what I have is right for me. As the owner of a red 4200 I struggle to understand why some people don't like it but, hey, I don't like silver so I just accept that we are all different. Great forum, great chat!

Gullible, I can understand your pain and dis-illusion, firstly in your experience with buying your Spyder and secondly with your own business experiences.

All of your experiences are real and have impacted greatly on you as a person and in living your life and providing for yourself and or family.

This is why its so important to rely on advice given by those who've been around longer and had more experience of Maseratis over the last 10-20yrs.

Purchasing anything from anyone, especially as complex as Maserati engines, gearboxes, electronic items and other parts, when 2nd hand is always a gamble, even with warranties and guarantees and good reputations.

Why does society use the expression buyer beware.........and why does the forum go on about get independent inspections and using those with robust, established reputations?

Precisely because theres always risk involved and with these cars, it aint going to cost you £3-600 to fix but £3-6000!!!

Negativity has its place.........especially when its you whose been shafted........

Keep well and hopefully things will improve in all areas.

Adam,
Absolutely right that you should have, and be able to express your opinion.
That what a public forum is all about...
Regards,
Enzo.

Of course Adam (Gullible ) is entitled to an opinion and voice it on here , but to slight a respected Maserati owner/ long established forum member on the darkside and recently on here ( A FRIGGIN JOKER ) is in my book out of order ,especially when he has had no dealings with Duncan and doesn't know him from Adam,

Sounds to me like Gullible has already tarred Duncan with the same brush that others used on him ,unjustly so , instead of offering words of caution/advice to other members he decided to publicly denigrade Duncan and his services without good reason , in my book that should be worth an apology , we all have off days and say things we shouldn't but it takes a man to know when an apology is due after the event , not justify it

So Duncan (Duncscot) doesn't post here any more Loz?

I think you have got your Duncans mixed up Adam. Duncscot was last heard off heading out to Beijing to test drive QP's round teinamen square. probably in a camp somewhere now, hanging by his thumbs

Adam, as anew member of this forum I value all opinions positive, negative good or bad. It allows me to make proper informed judgments from you guys with a lot more experience than me where Maseraties are concerned. I find it informative and unbiased from members who genuinely want to help protect and help other members to watch out for potential problems and pitfalls and sharks out there and I agree Adam, there does seem to be a lot, but to also hopefully help others with my good or bad experiences that is why I've joined.

Thanks Guys

Completely agree with the posts above, but in no relation to Adams post I would just offer the following in addition.....

Offering an opinion (either positive or negative, mild or vociferous) based on personal experience is absolutely right and, in my mind, is central to the function of a forum.

However offering an opinion based on general experience, but applied to something specific, or offering an opinion based on someone else's experience is a little more difficult, particularly if it relates to specific people or businesses within the Maserati community. Absolutely it should be posted to the forum, but perhaps the manner in which it's posted should be considered?

I personally want this forum to grow and to become the reference for all things Maserati, but I just wonder whether the best way to encourage that, particularly amongst the Maserati business community, is one of quizzical neutrality (does that make sense?) until proven otherwise.
