Petrol cap retainer

Hi all
The petrol cap rubber(?) retaining whip has broken.
I was going to super glue it but noticed another break about to happen.
Is this a spare part?
Is replacement easy?
Any other suggestions
thanks

take it off totally - mine is totally perished so I hang it on the built in hook inside fuel flap.

Or leave it on top of the forecourt pump, then biuy new one when you get home ;) showing £16 + vat eurospares

It's just a nuisance - when mine broke I removed it completely and as Rob says, hang the cap on the fuel flap hook (which you would probably be doing anyway I guess). Not worth replacing for me.

^^^ what drew said
Only partially joking about losing the cap. Would only bother about the tether if I lose my cap. Sure I could make one out of good cord (parachute cord) and crimping tool but have oter miinor projects. :) wishbone

My cord broke and I was hanging it on the fuel flap hook, but now that's snapped off. Superglued it once but it snapped after a week and I lost the hook. Not sure if you can replace the hook part - it isn't clear on Eurospares diagram.

Back to my First World Problem. I have now got a new black plastic lining part for the fuel lid, with the hook attached. However, I'm not sure how to fit it. Looks as though they are attached to the lid by 4 press studs but my efforts at gently levering it off have failed. Don't want to bend the lid which appears to be made of tinfoil it is so thin! Any ideas?
