Agree. I did three of these in the 90s and set the fastest time of the day in a Lotus Elise, probably thanks to my instructor named Franchitti. Another time, another corporate event there we were joined by 2 young upcoming race drivers; Gonzalo Rodriguez and Justin Wilson. I think they were 1st and 2nd in most tests but both sadly no longer with us. It seems only F1 that has raised the safety bar high enough.

Both head injuries, like Jules Bianchi or Massa. It’s the risk with open cars hence the halo things. Indycar are introducing something similar next year.
