I thought 'Whom' was the last remnant of the accusative case in English, which lost all its noun inflections after Middle English or even Old English, can't recall. 'With' implies instrumental case ie 'use of'. But that was a lifetime ago...<without watching>

English lost it's noun inflections but bits remain, possessive case as in apostrophe 'S' and I think, genitive with 'he/him, she/her' etc.
Cases did my box in when I did my Russian, I still have the tables in my head.....
