I just found my 993 that I originally bought in 2001 and sold in 2015 with 321k kms on the clock. I was very pleased to get 32k for it but it sold again (with 353k kms) 2 years ago for 67k euros in an oline auction. I think we are very fortunate to pay so much less for our cars here in the UK.

Walking round motor shows with my dad back in the day we’d need a break and a sit down after a while. We’d always head to Peugeot or Citroen stands and get in the back of a 604 or a CX for 10 or 15 mins. Super comfy soft seats and people generally only wanted to get in the front so no-one bothered.

Plus, even though they were the 5 series/E-class level of car they all weigh less than a 2023 EV city car like a corsa even with big old diesel lumps in the front!

Bought my first house in Gloucester for £25,000 in 85.

A 'Sweeney' locations / boozer meet in West London back in 2011, with my '72 Rover P6B 3500 Auto, and my mate's Mk1 Granada 3 litre (ex-Bristol plod registered very late on a T plate) and '79 Mk2 Escort 1300...







The building in the background of this last photo is Colet Court, which was the home of Euston Films when they made Special Branch, The Sweeney and Minder.
