Yeah, but when the Maxi eventually got up to 60 it would stretch 6 inches. As the 2 halves pull apart.Amazing we had Concorde on the one hand and Austin Maxi (or what ever it is) on the other.

My old man had an Austin 1800 with the old handle pull handbrake that he never trusted on a hill. For 1969 the Maxi was proper forward thinking. A mid sized car with a hatchback, fold down seats, level load space and seating for 5.

I would've loved to kept my last stag unfortunately it had to be sold to fund my dream car a Maserati. Glad to hear your still enjoying both.I do recall, it worked then or you wouldn't be on here!
Header tanks, not recently, however sometimes I can't bite my tongue any longer!!
Got my Stag out yesterday and warmed her through on the drive, it was dry but started to snow with bright sunshine, weird, however the roads where covered in salt so didn't go for a spin!
Likewise with the Maserati.
Good job the retired neighbours like noisy V8's!!
It was indeed just BL build quality and they put the oil filter in a very vulnérable place with many owners knocking them off on kerbs in car parks. For 1969 the Maxi was proper forward thinking. A mid sized car with a hatchback, fold down seats, level load space and seating for 5.
The Budget stuff was shockingly put together.Nothing wrong with BL design but the implementation and build was what let them down, in 1975 this was as shocking to the world as the E type was in 1961

Like you I'm looking at the XJS myself now.
Slutspurt. That's all I have to say on the matter.Oh, the Swedish language just keeps on giving.

I'm not convinced he could even drive the Lambo wearing those boots!
I think I remember that picture from when it happened? Didn’t the mini roll off a multi-storey car park?
PZeros? They are a menace.I'm not convinced he could even drive the Lambo wearing those boots!
