PPF removal

When I got my Strad it came part covered in PPF (front end, side skirts and rear quarters).

Last time I cleaned it I could see it was starting to yellow and some edges were collecting dirt.

Have removed the rear quarters for now, but after LeMans the whole lot will come off.

It’s time consuming to do, but quite satisfying so I will do it myself, bit by bit over the summer.

I did get some sticky residue on the rear quarters, not much, but what was left was a nightmare to remove, nothing seemed to touch it.

Anyone got any tips on what to use ?

I had the same issue with residue on mine. I just sprayed some tar and glue remover on. Left it on for a minute or so and it came off easily with a damp microfibre cloth

Use a hairdryer/heat gun to soften the glue before you try to take it off. Heat and peel a bit at a time. Less likely to leave glue behind or take paint off.

Thanks - that’s what I did but there was still some residue

Autoglym polish works on race car stickers.
I tried
- meths
- alcohol
- white spirit
- petrol

In the end I scraped and then polished it.

I will try tar remover next time, but the removal using heat can’t be rushed.

WD40 for the glue or panel wipe. You need some heat for it to come off easy (PPF) hairdryer will suffice as I see you are doing
