When changing pads, do you "have to" change the disks too? if not what is an acceptable reading on the disks?

PS: I'm thinking about FD Kevlar pads

Discs do knot need changing, unless they are below minimum thickness or badly scored.
However would recommend a gentle skim to help bed pads in.
I recently put new discs on & used FD on the Front, although Eurosparesmay have some offers .
Regarding pads I am using EBC HD instead of yellow, for everyday use I find they are more direct. They are a little softer, but will help the disc & stops sqeal.
Cheers

Cheers any idea what the acceptable thickness range is on discs?

Are non OEM discs just as good?

I'm such a noob but ref to replacing pads/discs, can a half decent indy do this or does it have to be a dealer?

It's a straight forward job, any one with reasonable skill & care can do it, I personally prefer doing it myself, good opportunity to check the car over whilst doing it.
