QP wheel value

My wheels need a refurb, the front tyres are also on their way out and the TPMS sensors are dying. I'm not to fussed about the TPMS.

At a rough guess I'd say a decent refurb plus two front tyres would set me back circa £800.

I've spied that someone on ebay is selling a set of identical 19" QP wheels on eBay, just refurbished and to include new centre caps, some bolts and significantly two front p zeros with good amount of life in them. He wants £850 for this lot.

So my idea is, buy them, put his tyres on them and swap my healthy rears over and I'd have shiny unmarked wheels on my car. Then I'm left with a set of wheels in need of some TLC. How much do you reckon they'd be worth? Big things but limited market I suppose. £400 perhaps? Just thinking that if that is a goer I get sorted wheels and new(ish) front tyres for effectively half price.

Hi Benmac, you shouldn't need to pay more than £100 per wheel for a good tyre-off bare-metal refurb, so add the cost of a couple of tyres and your budget seems about right.

My only comment regarding the ebay wheels would be whether they're hiding any secrets? Lot's of filler? Poor quality refurb? or something worse? Difficult to know one way or the other. Is the seller private or trade?

If they do check out, and you're in no rush to sell your wheels on, then there's nothing to loose and in the long-run you will make a saving, but as you say it's a limited market, so you may be trying to sell yours for a while.
