Does anyone know if there's an alternative to original brake discs for the QP 4.2?

It looks like Maserati are the only suppliers that I can see and the price is rather high compared to say a 4200 or GS.

I think Brembo make the OE Discs, but the licence still seems to be with Maserati, dependant on year, they do the aftermarket upgrades, but will not sell the OE type yet on newer models..!!

Pretty sure there's nothing on the sheet, but we should maybe add Performance Italia's parts?

I tried all over to find an alternative but gave up in the end. What I did find out though is that Brembo cast or stamp the safe minimum disc thickness into the disc either on the boss or onto the circumference outer edge. I believe it is 30mm for the front and 22mm for the rear on a QPV. What this meant on my car was I was able to get all four skimmed on the car and just replace the pads. The guy who skimmed them said that there was enough metal for another skim.
When I did mine 2 years ago costs for all four wheels were
New Maserati discs and pads £1850 + fitting.
EBC pads + skimming the discs and fitting the pads £380

I know this won't be for everyone but these guys seem to think it okay - http://www.thesupercarrooms.co.uk/maserati-brake-disc-skimming-repair

Thanks for that, I'll measure them and see about having them skimmed.

May be of interest to somebody else so here is a link to the company website, seems there are a lot of centres about;

Give McGraths a call. I had non maserati front pads fitted along with a disk skim. Saying that, the front brakes developed a squeak as I drove home. They said it had never happened before. After an attempt to refit and regrease, we gave up and i had proper Masser pads fitted. Squeak gone.
