Quattroporte exhaust options

Ok, I need more noise from my QPV !

Not enough to wake the dead, but just enough so that I can hear it.

I've read a few threads, but can't seem to find anything QP specific. I was contemplating starting with x pipes, but not sure what they replace, what they cost and how easy they are to fit.

If someone could give me a potted overview of the various options and costs for exhausts for QPs generally I'd be eternally grateful !

Cheers

Have a word with Marios at Autoshield, he will fill you in. An X-pipe replaces the central resonator and makes a noticeable difference and they cost approx £200. Fitting is usually pretty straightforward. Cafter that, canging any other part (cats or rears) will then let the flavour really flood out.

Jonny,

Try either the Larini Sports Cats or the legendary rear exhaust boxes..

Either option will give you a positive step change from a noise perspective (the rear exhaust making a giving aural difference).

Components specifically designed for each model and application
Lifetime warranty
unmistakable sound
Recover atleast 60% of your investment at resale time.

Feel free to ping me a call to discuss in further details.

Kind Regards

I have a Tubi Style exhaust on mine and thoroughly recommend it. I also like the fact that they are built in Modena, and the quality is unsurpassed. Not cheap though. Something like £2500 for a pair of rear boxes. I'm not sure who the Tubi dealer is for the UK these days, but it would be worth a Google search.

I recently had a full exhaust done by Prospeed in Cardiff for my 4200 Spyder. Cats, x-pipe & back boxes all custom built and fitted for half the price quoted for a set of Tubi back boxes. The cats are apparently Italian made, not cheap Chinese imports and they will tune the sound to your liking. Mine is just a bit louder than it needs to be, not as loud as it could be. Give them a call and speak to the owner, Charlie, he loves the sound of Maserati engines!

I would also be interested if the offer is still available Noor. Another question, I know what the back box valve does, but what is the noise level for the back boxes without the valves? Are they the same as running with the valves open or closed? For the valved option, how do they get power to the valve and how do they open and close? For both, is there any drone, and if so at what RPM range?

Cheers!
