Looking at these all of the time and thought to check on service parts after great work by MAF260 on disks for 3200 / 4200 / GS

Eurospares seem to quote £500 per front disk.
What is everyone else paying?

These are next on the list, Rob. QPs and GranTurismos share brake discs in either 4.2 or 4.7 flavour. They're ridiculously expensive so an alternative needs to be found ;)

I know It's completly out of contex but I did a full brake service for an old mate at the weekend on his beloved Rover 820 Vitesse
Four discs and pads, the fronts are big vented things, all the stuff was original Austin Rover (Honda)...£44 all in!
You'd have to be totaly nuts to pay £500 for one disc for any car....

too true Dave.
Even the big stoppers on 911s are less that this. Still Brembo too.
So do all current QP owners just shell out a grand for front disks each time?

Afraid so....over a barrel....they have you. once a QP gets down to £12/13K prices, people will think very hard before forking out £3k for lumps of cast iron and friction material!

Wow, that's seriously cheap! I remember fitting new discs and pads all round on my old 325i convertible before I did the engine conversion. I went for the dearer Pagid parts and still got change from £100!

race to the bottom - my daughter's Fiat Punto, disks are £11 each and pads even less.
Will be making sure that any QP has a decent set of stoppers before I touch it.

I got It down to £7 each trade on my Fiat 500 front discs, pads like you say were cheap as chips!

Am sure every GT/QP owner ( 55 listed so far) on the forum would want a full set, plus equally a full pad set, no doubt if the forum can make it happen it will

If and when I do get myself a QP, brakes replacement options will be duly investigated.
These outrageous prices will not be stomached. Once we have a disk or two and some pre-orders then things can get in motion.

There are different discs depending on the car spec. The normal discs are expensive, and the sport pack discs (grooved and drilled) even more so. Even using the normal discs, it's the best part of a grand to change the rear discs and pads inc labour and Vat. If the forum makes them I'll take a full set please.

Aha. Well well well.
How much for upgraded disks?

More!

My understanding is that the 4.2 QP and 4.2 GranTurismo share the same brakes. The 4.7 variant of each has different front brakes, but the same rears also. We are looking at producing both sets of front discs as well as the rears.

Nice one!
maybe one day I'll have a QP 4.2 and be able to keep it running :)

shame they decided to change the brakes.
Guessing bigger diameter became an option with QP & GT

My understanding too. FWIW the GranTurismo Sport has different discs as well as they are grooved as well as cross drilled.

What are you doing on pads as these are expensive OEM too?
