Good evening all, took my Stradale to Autofficina for a pre warranty expiry check today.

They have all these exotic Ferrari’s in the showroom, and as I walked around each of these beautiful machines on display, It then occurred to me I that all these Ferrari’s share at least one common part with the Stradale -
the orange side repeaters.

Amazingly, this part has not changed since at least the 80s (maybe even earlier), the same part was used on the 308, 328, 348, 355, even the F40, F360, F430, 599, 612...

How efficient is that ! I challenge you guys finding another part that has been used for as long! You think the sat NAV and those buttons on centre console are ancient - at least they probably came from late 90s or after 2000.

Now that explains why this orange side repeater looks so out of place on the Stradale. I just replaced mine -£35 for 2 pieces of small transparent plastics, expensive for what you get, but definitely worth the money.

Look at Boras, Meraks, Espadas, they all shared the same rear light clusters, then look at the seats and include the Fiat Dinos in that list, all shared the same seats.

The light units were out of the old Altissimo catalog, the same as many Alfa's and Fiats of the period

The side repeaters of 90's onwards VW's were used on all Audis, Skodas and Seats so it doesn't surprise me.

Bet you'll be looking closer at them now...

They are also shared with the Fiat Coupe. You can buy clear or smoked replacements from Germany for half what you paid.

I am indecisive so I bought both.

The trick with any upmarket Italian car is to never buy any spare parts with the manufactures Logos on the box!

I love part shares, especially when they are recognisable parts.
The S1 Elise actually has an Italian part share too. The 4 dashboard vents are shared with the F40.

Also, high level brake light from Saab 900, interior switches from a Peugeot 106 and number plate lights from a Rolls Royce, door handles from a Corsa, and the other half of the car is from the Austin/Rover parts bin ;)

The F40 also shares it's dash vents with an Alfa 33 or 75 or something...

;)

Typical Lotus at the time with no money and all that stuff!

An Alfa 4C all these years later with all that carbon and stuff would still have a problem with a nicely driven Lotus Elise:cool:

Timing belt tensioner; my spyder has the same one as an F50. I’ve always wonder why Maserati should stoop so low.

Why didn’t you say so !

Sounds like all Italian cars may actually be sharing the same side repeater :)

Fiat - £17.50
Maserati - £35
Ferrari - £70

Wow, you learn something new everyday...

This is international part sharing... well why not for these parts people don’t pay attention to.
