Had to take the plunge and have had a set of Quicksilver Supersports back boxes fitted to my Gransport.
The oem boxes were just too quiet. My son said you couldn't hear me on full chat; you can now, lol.
Hexadex, Congrat's mate, will look forward to hearing those at some point..!! The only advantage of the valves is that you can take it out of sport and it cuts the noise down a bit, if that's not what you want, then you don't need them..!!
The reason I went for the Quicksilver was I've just had fitted decat pipes and back box (Quicksilver) to the DB9 which now sounds like a GT racer flames and all on the overrun. The Supersports back boxes on the GS give that stupid grin effect to your facial muscles when flexing your right foot.

Gents I've spoken to a specialist exhaust company this afternoon about replacing the secondary cat and flattened sections with some straight through pipes for my 4200 - is it the front or centre section that they are both in?
Although I'm looking to release some of the growl as the stock exhaust is just too quiet, on the other hand I'm not looking to upset the neighbourhood too much ;-) - so I wonder if others have replaced these sections with straight pipes and if it makes it a little louder or much much louder, also does it create some boom inside the car?
The guy told me that the can stick a resonator in if its too noisy so this could also be an option...
I've asked about this before and Matt (Conaero) said there are some members that have tinkered with this...Benny you must be one of those... ;-)
The cats and squashed pipes are in the front sections. My 4200 came fitted with Larini sports cats, standard centre and standard rear boxes and tbh it wasn't much louder than standard but when I replaced the rear boxes with straight throughs it really did start to sing. Personally I think that is a good all round system that sounds good without being too in your face and neighbour unfriendly. It s all a bit of an experiment to get the sound quality and volume to your liking.
I've got Moz's centre section to to go on mine, this has basically taken a stock section and replaced the single large silencer (sort of triangular) with straight through pipes.
I'll let people know what the results are. I think Moz said he had sports rear boxes and it was too much for him so went back to standard.
I have sports cats on the front and standard x-pipe and back boxes. It's a little louder than standard, but certainly seems to give more pops on the overrun. Next year is play with the exhaust and induction systems year, so I'll be trying a few different things out to see what noise I can get.
You need to change two sections of the exhaust to get a decent increase in volume but I think the best initial change is the removal of two cats and the replacement of the other two with 200 cell cats. Replacement of the 'squashed' section helps with the breathing as well. After that, replace the centre section with an unsilenced X-pipe OR replace the standard rears with straight throughs (on the 4200). Replace both if you want to go nuts as it gets very loud, as last years Le Mans mob can testify. On the GS get the rear-box internals modified in order to get the volume but retain the ability to reign it in by closing the valves, if required.
Cheers mate. I've accumulated a fair bit of experience in p!ssing around with the exhausts on these things. I've had a fair few configurations on mine and I reckon I have got a handle on what's best for my neighbours and what's worst for the french!
