Loz..I thought you wanted this well organised, thats why I'm doing it as 'timed served' Warrant Officer, if a Sqn Ldr was running this he would post a week before the event and wonder why everone already had plans.

There will be plenty of space to erect gazebos on grass directly behind where all the cars will be parked so looking like a great opportunity to have a huge picnic. See pictures from last year.

Just a reminder, as last year this event falls the same weekend as Le Mans, and as Enzo has just reminded me, he will have to pull out as already committed to that event. Back to 16 cars.

I went with the family last year, it was a great day, my kids said it was the best air show they have been to.... You can get close up to the aircraft, and no queues. All very relaxed....

Very much looking forward to it.

Last year, and we will do the same for this year, meet at a Community Centre car-park opposite the Chequers Pub on Station Road, Brize Norton Villiage, OX18 3PR. The car park gets full with other car clubs like Porsche GB so there will be plenty of room for us across the road. The pub opens early for breakfast for those travelling from a distance.
http://www.thechequersatbrizenorton.co.uk/

The meet time will be 09:30, not too early, as we need to move from there via a back crash gate onto the base in convoy. Marshalls will then direct us onto a large concrete circular aircraft parking pan which can hold upto around 70 cars in one large circle, all facing inwards and backed right upto the grass, perfect for the picnic blanket. The gates do not open for the families until 11:00 am which gives you an ideal opportunity to roam around the aircraft, take a few pictures, with nobody around. There wil be a large fun-fair lots of attractions, plenty of food outlets and the usual burger vans, beer tent and a fantastic flying display. A warning at this stage, once parked up, it is very difficult to get out if you were intending to leave half way through the day due to aircraft taxi-ing etc. The organisers would prefer all the cars to stay until around 16:30 ish, anyway, anytime before that you would miss The Red Arrows !!

Spike - as you probably know by now, I've replied to your email. I also missed off the car colour, it's metallic black.
