Re-trim in Alcantara - anyone removed interior and dash trim to give me tips?

I have got a reasonable quote from an automotive upholsterer to re-trim the various interior parts of our 2014 Granturismo to look like OEM (a la Stradale - this is what I sent him and he said he can replicate):

However, it will involve removing all relevant parts (centre console lid, trim, dash trim, door trim, etc - all of the bits in the atatched pic that are alcantara with the white stitching) to drop off to the upholster and leave with him to do his stuff.

Has anyone done this before, any tips/links? Last thing I want to do is damage any of the existing trim and carbon bits........

Just sell it and buy mine which has the alcantara package ;)

I think you should stop up on trim clips etc and/or take it to a professional place who strip cars like this for a living. That being said, I doubt any of the driver facing interior trims are difficult to remove. Will you be doing the headlining too?

Good try! ;)

I might ask Emblem what they would charge to strip the relevant panels for me. Not doing the headlining, just the dash panels. Might get the seat inserts (the panel where you sit) done at a later date.

As Adam says - I had it done. £2500. Would recommend the person who did it if your quote was more. It looks amazing. I didn’t touch anything myself- he unclipped it all and put it back together with no problems. He also does steering wheels too which look great.

IMHO the A pillars and headlining make a big difference, so I would consider those if there is budget.

Ian, do you have any pics? I'm thinking about having this work done, but in leather.

Thanks for all replies so far, the pictures of the cars linked to above are precisely the look I am going for.

The quote I have is much more competitive than some of the prices I've seen mentioned but does involve me removing the various trim parts and dropping them off with the upholsterer which will be a bit of work of my part. The guy that has quoted has shown me pics of work that he has done on Aston Martins, Mclarens, Lamborghinis, etc which all looks good
