Folks

I want to replace the maserati chrome badge on the boot along with the long chrome handle strip. Had prices of

The Maserati chrome script badge is £317.85 +vat
And the rear chrome strip is £39.53 +vat

Bit shocked at the maserati badge price. Is this going rate ??

That's from a dealer

Thanks

Ahhh...the Good Old Stealerships.

May be worth having a look at FleaBay.

Have personally managed to buy genuine Maser OEM parts for a fraction of the price.

I fully knew there would be a 'Maserati' tax on parts but that's laughable for what is chromed plastic! Specially compared to the strip which is cheap but the plastics bit that says Maserati is 6 times the price lol

There are two versions of the badge. Although they are slightly different, they both fit.

One is rather a lot cheaper

Don't suppose there's part numbers kicking around?

And do we know what the difference is ??

4200 right?

67361800 is plastic and £12.33
66607300 is steel I understand and £68.80
67197600 is aluminium and £7.94

Nothing like your £300. I guess it's not a 4200 :)

I replaced my chromed steel that was pitted, for the polished aluminium, straight swop same size....and a lot cheaper!

You've confused me I'm afraid. GTS for me. Please tell me there isn't a boot badge for a 4200 costing £1200 and made is plastic ?

Be interesting to see if the 4200 ones are the same size, or at least the fixing holes may be?

If you measure the approx hole positions in the boot lid, if you have taken it off, I still have my old badge so can measure it to see if it's the same.
My chrome one I will get rechromed in the future. It is fastened with little nuts so can see the cost in manufacturing it.
The polished aluminium one looks good too, better than plastic, and is held in place with deformed push on washer things. Infact for the money, don't know how they make them so cheap!

So what's with the £300+ price of the GT one? My current one is plastic, I'll email them back asking what material it is

Turns out it was a typo lol

My apologies I just proof read the email I sent you!

The script badge is meant to be £17.85 (I must have added a three by mistake!)

Both trim pieces are a chromed plastic with a 3m sticky back, the rear strip also has mounting pins to help secure it in the correct location.
The older 3200 and 4200 maserati’s have an aluminium script badge however Maserati switched to a chromed plastic on all the newer models.

The 32 and early 42 have chromed steel, then with the later 42 aluminium and finally plastic.
