Hi
Having recently read the pistonheads article, i am now considering a 4200. I was close to buyig a gransport a few years ago but bought a m3 csl, which was great but with 4200 prices now getting close to 12k i still feel its a box i need to tick.
My question is this: in the comments of the pistonheads article a chap said that the friendly guys on the "sportsmaserati" forum said that many so called expensive parts i.e. f1 pump, brakes(discs and pads), oil filters, air filters, spark plugs etc can be sourced quite cheaply and many of them a shared with bmw's etc and that is a bit of a myth that the service parts are expensive.
Is this true and is there a thread with where to get these and approximate costs?
I think he called it an alternative List(with cheaper alternatives) you guys had produced i cannot find it on the forum.
I know the engines on the 4200 are very reliable and generaly very good as are the boxes.
Also if its true that the above parts can be sourced cheaply what about bushes/ droplinks etc.
Looking foward to hear whether this is all true as i may go out and get one bought!!
Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated
