That is a good point about the Lidl one. Both my cars are on trickle chargers continuously. The Turbo has a CTEK MX 5.0.
The Gransport a cheap LIDL product.
Both are anazingly good and never damaged the battery.
BUT
In the event of a power outage, when power is restored, the CTEK resets itself, the LIDL obe doesn't. How do I know?
When I came back after almost three months in Spain, when I went to start the GS, the LIDL charger was not showing the car symbol. The battery was dead. When it is connected, the user must select 'car' or 'motorcycle ' by pressing the option button. After a power outage, it requires the user to manually select. I was out the country, could not reset it, so it did not charge after power was restored. The Turbo was fine. The CTEK reset itself.
I had to replace the GS battery.
I knew there had been a power outage because the cooker clock was wrong by over an hour behind.
Now I ask a neighbour to call me if there is a power outage and he has the GS key to press and reset the LIDL charger in the boot of the GS.
It's not like you want wheels on your car anyway. Why I'm off to Manchester...proper people up there.
