My grandfather had a late 404 1.6lt, much like the one on the video. It was the only car in the family the first few years when i was born.
I have 2-3 distinct memories, one being 5yr old or so, sitting on my grandfather's lap and holding the wheel while the car is rolling on an open space. Another been picked up from nursery earlier than usual.
I thought it looked quite majestic and very much benefiting from pinininfarinas talent. It leaved on the street though so by the early 90s had extensive corrosion. My parents recycled it and replaced it with a brand new VW golf Mk3 1.4 CL (60hp, no hydraulic steering, no air con). I was 10 at the time and not happy with their decision but for them a car was an extension of kitchens white goods - pure utility.
