Reverse lights

Does anyone know if both need to work to get through the Mot? Only one of mine works. Changed the bulb, no difference. Looking through the manual but there isn’t a fuse.

Any other ideas for a non DIYer?

My feeling is that only one would do (lots of cars only have one) but....

Haven't tested in the UK for 10 years and wasn't part of the test then.
Sensibly for a minimum standard test I would pass and advise.

If you don’t have a multimeter, then check the contacts are clean and that’s about it.

You will probably pass with one.

Had a bit of a duh moment...

The bulb I checked was the fog light and not the reverse one(they're next to each other). All good now

My Volvo just passed it's MOT with 1 number plate bulb out. Listed on the advisory to get fixed.

That's what the advisories are for on a minimum standard test.
My advice has always been service your car and then the MOT and if done properly a Pass fault free is guaranteed.
