Major excitement over here as the Irish think they have a chance but hey have heard that before. Doesn't look great for England but the French girl in my team will be very happy with their start against the All Blacks

Yes the French did well - here in SA it’s definitely World Cup fever, everyone is on board for a wild ride - many teams that can win it, SA amongst them. Let’s see how far we can go this time. Having had our best ever score against the All Blacks a couple of weeks ago at Twickenham is not necessarily a good thing, they will be **** bent on beating us if we end up playing them further along the line. But we will first have to beat Scotland as that is probably the pivotal match with Ireland in the pool. I would say the pools are a bit lopsided with world numbers 1,2 & 5 in our pool (pool of death I would say) and numbers 3 & 4 in France’s side. So only 2 of the top 5 can end up in the Semifinals which is a bit odd…

It promises to be an exciting event, although despite the "odd" draw the tournament needs a few upset results, otherwise the group stages drag on for weeks (because of the necessary gaps between games).

I just love the fact that England are staying in our hotel in Le Touquet, even seen randomly cycling around the town clearly not under the influence...

Results pretty mush as expected, Ireland dominated but they won't get that much space with some of the better teams, England did enough despite only 14 men but also will have to step up to make progress. All in all enjoyable to watch so far - more today Scotland & Wales in action and Japan in Pool D

My money is on the Boks. They look so much better than when they won it last time out. It will take a very creative display to beat them. Looking forward to the Scotland game as I think Finn R is one of the most talented 10s and the one most likely to unlock the RSA defence. He will need the pack to hold steady and not go into reverse though.

Watch a very clever England against the Pumas, good to see intelligence won the game.

Going to watch Wales Fiji tonight, not bothering with the easy win matches it’s boring.

South Africa v South Africa A should be a good game. Springboks v Springjocks.

England were awesome, what a performance. That’s made my weekend, and indeed the next few weekends a good deal more enjoyable.
