Rust!

Has anyone found any rust spots on a QP V yet? I have heard that the boot lid frame may rust from the inside out, particularly around the rivets near the hinges and on the leading edge by the rear window.

Yep, I've got a rusty boot lid and bonnet, due in the body shop later this year

I looked at five different QP Vs today at Silverstone. Everyone had the same problem. Apparently the boot lid and frame are alloy and the bubbles under the paint are due to galvanic processes and are oxidised alloy, not rust. Still corrosion, but not the dreaded tin worm.

Leading edge - bottom corner of offside passenger door has some minor bubbling. Wing mirrors also electrolytically deficient at the pivot point...
