Still mastering the sat nav.

couple of things:

are you able to insert the last three numbers/ letters with the sat navs in the GTS - or are all masa sat navs the first three only - even 2010 models?

Say the first part of the postcode comprises four numbers/ letters - can you get that first half of the postcode in completely at least - even if not the back half - or are you stuck with three quarters of the first half of the postcode ?

eg SW1 instead of SW1H etc

another observation - although the sat nav is very good - she is not perfect and I've noticed that she is inaccurate in little respects - she turned me today left when it clearly should have been right eg.

have others noticed slight inaccuracies?

what about in europe - eg remote french / german villages - how accurate is she?

I have the latest disk and this still only allows input of the first 3 postcode characters,
but I found that if I enter a 'district' as well, it gets me to roughly where I want to go.
The system is certainly not as good as a tom tom or other well knows systems out there,
but I find it OK...and yes, I have also spotted inaccuracies.
Although I also have the European disk, I have not used it yet, but believe it is only for the major roads,
Regards,
Enzo.

enzo,

disk?

mine says - enter country - so you put in UK.

I assumed if in france eg, you put france in and away you go.

do I need an actual disk for europe?

If so, I need to chase the dealer.

I have an older car, so may well be different.
Mine has a Blaupunkt system which uses the Tele Atlas maps (Part of Bosch),
I bought the latest UK and Ireland maps + major roads of Western Europe,
which came as 2 CDs...

I found the satnav in my old 4200 probably the worst I have ever used, so user unfriendly and took an age to do anything. I used a Tomtom instead.
