Just gone over 12,000 miles since my last full service at Maserati and the service spanner has come on.

I intend of taking it for a service after christmas but the service spanner light is really annoying to look at when i drive.

Does anyone know how to remove the service light ?

Thanks

At the risk of stating the obvious, why do you not want to get it serviced when the car is on 12.5k service intervals?

I believe it needs plugged in to a Maserati SD machine to reset the service interval on miles and, whilst not relevant here, on time if you change the date in the dash appropriately I think it may cancel.

SD needed or similar so you will be visiting a garage either way...live with it till service time.

Yeah, I have the same thing - green spanner since my new battery. But I'm getting used to it, and it alternates nicely with the permanent 'siren not working' icon.

I thought all cars had to have a,(secret,) manual way of resetting it, usually very convoluted.

Turns out that this has been discussed fairly recently.

http://www.sportsmaserati.com/showthread.php/19808-Clearing-the-service-light

Conclusion of that thread was that you need to go to a proper garage with a proper Maserati computer and even then (probably) they won't reset the spanner unless they have done the service.

OR you set the date back to 2016 (not sure I really understand this, but might give it a try).

OR you buy some bit of kit from China to do it.

This of the net for 2013 Granturismo.
1. Before starting, make sure that the odometer is not on one of the trip mileage odometers but is displaying the standard odometer.

2. With the car off, press and hold down the odometer reset button. While still holding it, start the car.

3. The light should continue to blink for a couple seconds and than disappear. That will reset the light for another 5,000 miles.

4. The following are steps to change the interval in which the maintenance required light comes on. Right after you turn on the ignition while holding the reset button, you'll notice that the odometer display will show 5 bars. Each bar corresponds to a 1,000 miles. As each bar disappears, the interval will increase (0 bars = 5k, 1 bar = 4k). Release the reset button at the interval you desire.

I have always found a manual way for all cars I have owned,( haven't tried for the 3200,) but managed the Jag, Merc. etc.

I bought an ODBSTAR X200 from China, resets the service indicator on my 2007 QP without issue. I service my own cars so needed a way to do it without going to a garage. For £150 was well worth it paid for itself already.

I'm in Essex happy to give it try on your car if you're in the area
