Servicing Quotes

Just gave Grimaldi a call for a quote for my looming 25k service. What friendly folk! No price yet but I'm interested to see how they stack up against Lancaster. One point which Lancaster made was that their service prices are fixed and include all service parts, fluids etc etc. They've heard horror stories that some of the cheaper main dealer quotes exclude some service items, so it's worth making absolutely certain that quotes are fixed and you know exactly what you're getting. Blindingly obvious to many of you I'm sure, but I figured a service quote would be fixed... perhaps not necessarily!

believe it or not most common items missed off at (Main Dealers are air filters and pollen filters , mainly because there hidden and a pain to get at and swap

Its Annabelle i think you mean , thats his brand new wife of last Tuesday lucky fella , I will 100% stand behind his service , 2nd to none , knows his onions through and through , he's honest as the day is long and wont miss bits off , He should be cheaper than Lancasters like for like , but the service you'll recieve is twice as good and guaranteed , same goes for Emblem , but their not in your neck of the woods

They are incredibly friendly, my current 4200 had been serviced there for the last 2 or so years and when I called to find out about the Trofeo alloys he had fitted (with specific wheel bolts), he went out of his way to look at bolts from exotica in his garage to try and match the picture I sent him with no expected benefit for himself.

Previous owner could only sing his praises and I can see why.

Annabelle, yes, sorry. Hopeless with names. [slap]. First impressions were excellent, I must say.

Some firms advertise their fixed price servicing.
Forum sponsor, Shiltech do, for example - this gives an additional comparison.

Has anyone here taken up a price-matching offer from a main dealer? How did you get on? I'm quite cynical about some (not all) main dealers and wonder if a few extra works and costs would be required?

Let us know how you get on.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, and sorry it's off topic, but kudos to your username! Omar Little is certainly one of TV's best charachters and The Wire one of the best ever shows.

It's a pseudonym!!
