I think I will be looking for Ferodo DS2500, have them in both the SZ and the Q4 and rate them really highly

I'm undecided on my choice of new pads. Yellow stuff are highly rated, but they're quite expensive. I threw a set of Mintex pads on my car as an interim and they're really good. £65 delivered for a set of front and rears. Are yellow stuff going to be 3 times better? Hard to know without buying them!

I'm waiting for an update from the manufacturer, will report back when I hear. The last update I had was that they have been created and cast, but not finished.

I lost the plot between all the options available for pads being a dunderhead so have just gone with the majority and ordered yellows. Yes, they are more expensive but I would only spend the extra on wine or tequila anyway if I had it spare ;)
Thanks for update mark:numberone:

I would have no hesitation on spending a bit more on pads if they do the job of stopping the car, going cheaper and running a risk is not my idea of fun..!! I currently am supposed to have Ferododo DS2000 Race pads in and to be frank, unless they are hot, they are pretty poor, so I will be having those out toot sweet5, even though they are not that old, I need the darned car to STOP..!!

I have tried DS2500's on one of my previous cars - they didn't have very good pedal feel when cold and you need to work them hard to get the best out of them. They also gave off quite a lot of dust.

I had EBC yellowstuff on my 335i, those pads were excellent. Good performance from the off but once you start to work them they really sharpened up. Braking performance was noticeably better than stock pads in all circumstances. Whether they are worth the extra cash compared to Mintex is anyone's guess but i would recommend them. One word of caution with yellowstuff pads though - when new they have a break in compound on them that you need to clean off your wheels immediately. If you don't it sticks to your alloys and makes a mess of them!

Latest update from the manufacturers - they're expected mid-April. They've apologised for the delay, but have had to create these from scratch, cast them, machine them, coat them and test them. It's a small run for them, so understandable. The good news is that the second batch will be significantly faster to arrive as all the hard work is now done.

Timescale is not the priority as far as I'm concerned it is more about sticking it to the cartel. Good work Mark.

Another month is not that bad..!!
We all know how wonderful you are Mr MAF, but it does not hurt to tell you again... We think you are a real valuable member of our community and we could not do without you..!! You're invaluable wit and sarcasm are refreshing to say the least and your humour is out there on top with the best..!! You can't drink a lot, could look better, possibly drive like you meant it some times and stop throwing Bibles out of your window, but we all still love the colour of your car, so we let you off..!! I'm sure Benny will be along to bolster your ego a bit more, very soon..!! Keep your chin up mate, your sex drive will come back..!!

I'll just have to wait a wee bit longer before putting her back on the road. She's not complaining though, getting lots of attention anyway.
