Better maybe to still restrict sales to 2 sets a member then, and indeed members who have a bit of a track record/contribution.......to SM, thoughts?

Don't disagree P. People joining just to get the disks cheap is pushing it, as they could end up on Fleebay the next day with a zero added, but that's not my call. Better still, do both. Stamp the disks and monitor who can take advantage of Marks hard work.

And I'll bet that Marios' order ends up on his own cars, not as a sell-on, but that he would be more than happy to put people asking for cheaper discs in touch with the forum then charge them for fitting.

I'm nothing to do with the sourcing of these, but IMHO this is a great way to introduce people to the forum, a large part of which is about the cars and how we manage to keep them viable. If they end up on flea bay at a profit but with no attribution then no one in their right mind would buy them..."no-brand brake discs for your 174mph supercar going cheap!!!! Roll up, roll up". Good luck to both seller and buyer with that one!

Restricting access for length of membership would disadvantage genuine enthusiasts, but I agree that max 2 sets per member unless they are known to have a reason for more (can't punish someone just because they own 5 masers!) is a good idea to start with.

This is a great initiative, and something I'd snap up if I needed them. I'm actually tempted to buy some as a protest against Maserati SpA, as a decorative item and as a first upgrade when I do get round to owning another Spyder.

The whole point about model forums is helping others with information and services related to that particular model and sourcing / manufacturing parts that are no longer available or only at a significant cost is a great service. I would even be happy for SM to take a small cut from each order to fund similar investigations for other hard to find / expensive parts e.g. Clutch plate & covers.

Well done and many thanks to all those who have made this happen.

Thanks for all the thoughts and comments on this deal - it's been created for enthusiast owners to benefit from. I don't care how long they've been a member or whether they joined the forum for this deal only, the point is that they are willing to join a group deal (we needed at least 50 orders) and won't be paying rip-off OEM prices that are tightly controlled by Maserati.

I also don't care what Marios does with the discs he buys, although I'm sure they're for his own personal collection of cars. Marios is a forum sponsor and spends a lot of his time on here or on the phone answering queries and helping people with their cars for no charge. I think the least he deserves is to be offered the same deal as other owners.

The supply line of these discs has been created very carefully and will be managed by SportsMaserati; the discs can only be bought through the forum. If any specialist wants to stock them and pass the savings on to their customers then we will have a sensible conversation with them.
