Problem with sports bikes is I can pick them up and put them in my pocket. I look absolutely ridiculous on most of them. Or did.

...could never ride those comfortably, either. And given all the abuse to my body over the years, even gave up my mountain bike because of the handlebar position...

It's not even about comfort....... It's about this pretty long, gangly bloke picking up this toy......

Totally don't get

a) Why you would
b) How you could. I find wind buffet unpleasant in a car at 50. In a Caterham it was unbearable at about 40. On a bike? No bloody way

Not saying I've never ridden without a hat...but it is surprising that I am here to tell about it.
That's me to be truthful had a few visits to the hospital in my time with motorcycle's.
The last one in New Zealand in a helicopter coming off my BMW G450X with all the best gear on as I had matured by 2018 :)

I’ve finally finished the GPz550A1 and have now started looking at the C15. Sadly, it would appear about 40% of it seems to have disappeared over the last 40 odd years, so it’ll be a longer project than I’d initially assumed. Also, of the engine bits that are left, it would appear that in the 20 years it was on the road, it had been thrashed mercilessly by every one of its owners who spent nothing on maintenance. I have to admit, it was my first bike and I was so poor I could afford to buy it, and didn’t spend much on it either. Ironically, I stripped it down back in 1984 in order to spend some money on it, but then I joined the RAF and the job stopped for 40 years! I’m restoring the engine first, and I’ll post some photos up when it’s done.

Any pictures of both Ian ?
Would be nice to see please.

Phil. As soon as I get the Kwacker out of the garage, I’ll put some photos up. It’s in the workshop at the back so it’ll take a bit of manoeuvring to get it into the daylight. At the moment, the BSA is in bits, so there’s nothing really to photograph. As soon as the engine is back together, you’ll see it.

A load of us used to go to Desborough airfield on a Sunday, there was a runway and a perimiter road that was navigable with a few big holes you had to avoid, it was madness though, things you do when you're young, I rode round there with no helmet on

The authorities must've been aware but nobody ever came to stop it, until a couple of bikes had a head on collision and people died, that was the end of that, they blocked it all off

If my mum knew what I did on a RD250 when I was 17 she'd have set fire to it

It still looks pretty much the same, like a race track

Sad news, this guy was a blast in the WSB paddock in the 90s, had massive fall out with Neil Hodgson, and he gave me his helmet.

What a sad demise of a huge natural talent just shows how powerful addiction is on the human body.
Love the girl dancing in a cage next to the beer fridge though.

Here's an interesting British bike but with an Innovative Engine from Spain. Get this, it's a 700cc ICE producing 120bhp and only weighs 38kg.
Now here's the interesting bit, it's a two stroke. It's got 8 pistons. It has only four cylinders.

I was full of a cold , so I didn't ask more questions about it as I was struggling trying to understand its concept.

Here's a link for you. https://abcmotorcycles.com/innengine-concept/

Just spotted this in The Bike Shed, Hoxton. No info available, but I can confirm it's a beast!! 20240222_180458.jpg

Compensation for how ugly it is.
If you're referring to the bike then yes, it's not pretty. I think the chassis is merely a mule to demonstrate the engine. I'm sure with further development, it could be a stressed member in a more aesthetically pleasing sports bike. Even enlarged to 1000cc to qualify for MotoGP or Superbike classes. This is only the start of something revolutionary.
