So what's the plan for 2011 then?

In SportsMaserati.com's first year I think an awful lot has been done and achieved, often in a short space of time - the
Christmas do of course being the most prominent and successful.

But what's on the cards for next year?

I'll start with some suggestions and we'll see how many (hopefully much better) ideas follow....

*Wet weather training day at Rockingham - did one earlier in the year, makes you realise that you're not as good as you think you are.... slows you down quite a bit!
*VMAX at Bruntingthorpe - Popular on PH, for those not in the know, huge long runway that you can VMAX your car on alongside a "competitor" not a drag race as such, although the temptation is there of course.... speeds you up quite a bit!
*Trofeo race at Donnington in July
*Day/s out at GFOS and/or Revival
*French vineyard tour
*Factory tour
*A professionally filmed day out as per the Xmas video footage thread
*Monaco GP (with or without Jets and Helicopters)

Please add to the list as I'm sure between us we can come up with some great experiences for next year.

On a completely different note (and maybe should be on a separate thread?) I for one would be happy to pay an optional annual subscription fee to be a "club member" to help in the organising of these types of events and the general running of the club/forum.

For me, the hightlight of any year is the visit of Le Mans. Its my annual homage, and look forward to it every year. Last year SM.co.uk all staying in a friends of Loz's farmhouse, stunning. This year I will be returning, but staying in my previous place with a bunch of guys I go with regularly, but of course, goes without saying, will be meeting up with the rest of the SM.co.uk guys on a daily basis.

As for moving forward, the forum remains my mainstay. About Spring next year, we will be releasing a revamped site, with a host of new feature, along with marketing material for you guys to hand out.

I am also toying with the idea of video how to's.

Bristol Italian day is one I have been threatening to make, but it falls on my wedding anniversary, and my wife it not the biggest of car fans so this might not be possible.

On a sadder note, 2011 might be the first time in the past 5 years that I will be Maseratiless, as I plan to sell in the Spring and sit on the money to try and make the step to a GTS. This might mean that I am out of the fold for a year, or maybe a little longer, but dont fret, SportsMaserati.co.uk is and always will be forefront in my mind. I am toying with the idea of going classic and am in quite advanced talks regarding a Maserati Bora.

2011 looks bright, with the prospect of a whole new bunch of members coming to the marque, and with that I will do my utmost to accommodate these siblings.

A couple of my favourites are Auto Italia Stanford Hall in June and a few of us have toyed with the idea of going to the Ferrari national concours in Warwick (3 mins from my house so I am biased)

I have gone for the past ten years it's Fantastic, if you are in the maserati club you can also park in the centre of the circuit next to the paddock

Bristol needs to be added...and an other track day or two if there is enough interest.

Will have to cherry pick a few events, but Stanford is already on the list.

As regards wet day training.......I do that most days.....carry some water wings in the boot too....;)

The Trofeo event looks tempting...:)

Won't do Le Mans this year.

Might get to something in Sept/October....with or with out the Maserati!

Pity Conaero being tridentless for a prolonged period........hope its not as long as you think and you end up getting a *******!

If I can again echo Dans last line......re sharing the burden Conaero

Its has been offered by many members to me, and it is appreciated. I would still however like the forum to remain free to all, but maybe members willing to contribute an annual subscription will get upgraded to a SPONSOR tag line and get a flashy icon next to their avatar maybe.

I will revisit this when I look at the costs next year.

Would like to go to Brooklands but it is a long way from me, 3 hours. Stanford will be one i will be visiting, along with Donington for the Maserati Trofeo Championship and also Ferrari Concourse. FIA GT at Silverstone is another great one as well.
