Easy. The Auto transmission (be it standard Auto or Auto with 'MC Auto Shift') has a gear lever in the central tunnel, near the air-con controls. Whereas the MC Shift (automated manual) transmission has buttons where the gear lever would be.
See pics below highlighting the 'tell tale' signs.

Auto transmission:-
MGC MC Options 1-004 - WD32 (CF Trim) + TRGT (Eco Chrome Trim) + Evolution Pack 1 + STC3+STCA (C.jpg

'MC shift' robotic sequential (automated manual) transmission:-

Cool, thank you.

So If I have the one in the first picture, I have no clutch right ?
Being the Sport GT S I'm guessing it's the 'MC Auto Shift' which has all those cool settings for when you change gears at over 5000 rpms right ?

Not sure about the newer boxes. The MC Shift is a robitised manual transaxle. It's hopelessly dim-witted in auto and should never be used in that mode. In manual you change gears with the paddles, but if you let it then it will down-shift by itself. In Sport mode (which also stiffens the suspension and sharpens the steering and throttle responses), when the gearbox oil is warm, the revs are over ~4k and the throttle is over ~80% open it will do super-fast gear-changes.
