I remember watching them race and don't need to choose. Ovett was the quiet one, Coe the charismatic upstart; the races they ran together over both distances were captivating and then Crammie took it into the next generation. Magic times.
I have enjoyed it, even if in French being on holiday in Bordeaux.
Really wanting to go to bed now being one hour ahead...but if ever country in the world has an athlete competing, something like 192 to parade!
Hahahaha...Isn't that what the Olympics are about Dan....
I must say in the present climate I think its a waste of tax payers money..but lets not get into that..........But I will say as the whole thing went on I think it got better....Still a waste of our money when the country is falling apart...The money could have been spent else where...........But I do get that loads will love it and see it as a great thing for the UK....
After a fantastic Thai meal for the womans birthday , came back to a boring procession and what seemed to be a huge extravaganza pageant , extravaganza waste of money if you ask me , quaint british my a55 , i was expecting to see dick van **** pop out at anytime , re the Coe and Ovett thing , coming from very close to Brighton i was definate Ovett supporter
I would say it was a great tale of all things Britain achieved in our modern history. First class and very different to the Big is best approach the Chinese put on. That was impressive in other ways.
The music was mind blowing if you ask me. The Kinks, Jam, Queen, Oldfield, Dizzy Rascal, Sugar babes & OMD just to name a few. Eclectic mix of the world’s let alone Britain's greatest musicians. Emeli Sandee was outstanding what a voice that Scottish Angel has.
Go team GB even the diehard Scot's independents in my bar last night agreed it was great.
Anyway off to watch our current TDF & world championship holding cycling team blow the doors off all-comers in our own back yard.
