In the S Times today they note that the AA will shortly be equipped with a universal spare tyre which fits virtually all 5 stud wheels ( you pay a £200 security deposit and its returned after you've fixed your own tyre).........am sure other rescue companies will follow suit.

Bad news is with the swelling numbers of car owners using in car cameras to record those involved in poor or dangerous driving then uploading the same to secure sites for police to pursue and prosecute....so guys the UK is now a nation not only with the most CCTV cameras in the world but now a nation always being observed no matter what you do on the road.....oh well...........thankfully it won't catch on over here.........;)

I think the latter is a Russian import sadly... Mind you I have been tempted to video equip my vehicles given the miles I do. I usually work on a scary moment about once a month and a really scary one every 3-4 months. I'd qualify that by saying 99% are not of my making I just happen to be in the wrong place at that moment...

By the end of the year I will have personally driven more than 2,000,000 miles since having a moped licence!

So that is in excess of 100 really scary moments and more than 400 scary ones; without tempting fate I have never had a major crash in 4 or more wheels and only a handful of fairly minor ones on two in the early days (enough to knacker my knees though)...

In car cameras. Have not read about this before, that's a little disturbing. I may be an internet anti-hero and not know it!!!!

If I'd been filmed today I wouldn't be an Internet anti hero, I'd have been the new inmate on 'B' wing. A few of us got carried away a few times and.......I'm drinking a cup of tea at home half expecting a knock on the door and a very one sided interview.

In car cameras for speeding will not work, it would have to involve a **** of a lot of evidence to ensure that the video camera equipment precisely records speed. I can't see it working.

The AA universal tyre is 17" maximum

they use the footage from these cameras in China as part of the evidence when the meeting of 2 vehicles driven by idiots happens, and thats a lot of the time
