£30k sports cars | Six of the Best
Half a dozen very good reasons why you shouldn't buy a new hot hatch

I'd agree a Maser in some guiese should be in there for sound alone.I don’t post on PH, and saw there’s 7 pages of comments. At £30k there’s surely a compelling argument for a Gransport LE or a Granturismo S MC. They’re considerably better than a V8 Vantage, and a C63 isn’t a sports car.
Yet you own a Maserati, surely you have the ballsmust admit I do love the look/styling of the vantage, simply gorgeous, never had the balls to buy one though

As Martin says as a Maserati owner your balls need be no bigger to take on a Vantage. Buy a good one with all the consumable wearables done and arguably it will be potentially less wallet damaging.must admit I do love the look/styling of the vantage, simply gorgeous, never had the balls to buy one though

Very different cars though. One is more a sports car the other a clear GT. A Gransport isn't as good to drive as a drivers car. An MCV might get close.
There is a case for owning both a Vantage and a GT S as they are so different. Completely different size, weight, package. The GS is closer but weird as too hard and too soft.
The Vantage steering is one of the best I've driven. Proper drivers car.
I would definitely consider a V12V.I would buy a vantage simply on its looks alone and could forgive any shortcomings
I had a V8V 4.3 manual for 4 years.A little too much 'botox' around the rear haunches but a stunning car all the same.
And at £30K for full bodied coupe, with a manual box; its alot of car for the money !
I wonder how much they are to run..and I mean run. Why else own a car ?
Quite surprised to not see a Maserati in the line up aswell , also I think there should be a GTR in there aswell ,performance and depreciation wise ,the GTR beats most if not all , I think what Dicky is intermating is for some guys to get on and add to the posting, so he can come along and provide the necessary , excellent forward thinking marketingI'd agree a Maser in some guiese should be in there for sound alone.
Considerably better than a V8 Vantage? Have you been drinking Dicky?

Annual service at £700-£800.
I had a squeaky belt replaced at about £250 a pair of brake pads and some tyres...
I did a out 20k miles in it.
About 21mpg.

Absolutely Andy , if Dave's car hadn't come up when it did, that would of been my way forward ,just to scratch my itch , I've had excema ever since 2011 when plaitting with a Gallardo , a 993 and GTR on the way to le man's doing 150/160 , couldn't believe the GTR dropped a couple of gears and just shot ahead ,left me totally embarrassedThey have held their value well to Loz.....Last time I looked there weren't many under 30k. Bonkers performance for the money.

No way would I pick an AM V8 over a Maserati. I love the looks but it has a Jag engine, Volvo sourced interior and I have spoken to quite a few people who look after them and they are much more trouble than our GTs. I am sure there are exceptions but you need to consider a significant number - ask Carl at Prestigeworks which cars he spends more time fixing! Maseratis sound much better too!I'd agree a Maser in some guiese should be in there for sound alone.
