Good spot. So I Googled this and found:

I suppose what happens it Italdesign do a concept then approach manufacturers to try and flog it to them. Deawoo initially took it on then did not proceed any further. Along comes Maserati looking for a new coupe and voila, the concept is moved on to what we now know as the 3200....well, that's what is likely to have happened.

A bit of Porsche Boxter in the front end too if I am not mistaken.

Thats what happens....designers work at a car then give it to companies....same as music, a producer or writer would put a beat together and give it to a few musicians who will decide who wants it

I was keeping out of this but I can't resist; the 3200 looks like it was modelled off a Daewoo whereas the 4200 is modelled off the 3200. This obviously makes the 4200 soooo much better than the 3200 because the 4200 is modelled off an Italian car whereas the 3200 is a Korean mutt!! ;)

The 3200 is a daewoo concept? The italians added the lovely touches that make it sexy, like boomerangs and bonnet vents.....what did they do on he 4200 benny? Take them away? Making it more like the daewoo concept

Most proberbly the Korean version wouldn't have so many warranty claims, unlike the Italian 4200...

By getting rid of the cartoon bling, they took the 4200 away from a Korean concept car and into the mainstream which includes America. That way they sold more and saved the marque. So whilst the whizz BANG 3200 paved the way the 4200 did the job. Case closed, but thanks anyway. X
