Any recommendations for a grease to go on the (worm?) gears? Mine have been slow or stuck over the last two days.

Mine were getting a bit sticky.

I put a bit of copper slip on the worm and a bit of light oil on the catches. No problems with sticking since.

Yes, they did stick now and again, re close the roof fully then get out and give them affected side a whack, voila, opened.

I did get as far a lace them in Silicone grease but this wore off after a few weeks, I hope the copper slip lasts a bit longer.

The whack trick always released it but I would like to try and keep it working properly. Let's see how copper slip does, I have found in other similar instances it seems to hang around a bit longer than silicone grease but experimentation is where it's at.

I'll give a thumbs up for white Luthium as I solved my annoying boot rattle, its great stuff, I might try it on the wife and see if it stops that annoying rattle?

Ouch - let me know how you get on, if it works on wives it might work on the boss

I took my hood closing motor off, stripped it down and greased it. It's very easy to do, it only took me an hour or so.

It works 99 times out of a hundred even when it's been stood for a bit. I think Chris will have to manually open the hood as the motor just wasn't working. It's either gummed up inside, a dodgy electrical connection or kn4ckered brushes on the motor. He did say the motor was getting slower so it could be the brushes and if it is, the fuse might have popped as the load increased. I doubt it's much of a job either way.

You want a grease that will not go gooey in the cold, it has to stand both high and low temperatures, otherwise it will stop working as it should at either extreme. Good gear grease should do the trick..!!
