This weekend is likely to be the last time anyone in the South will be washing their cars with a hosepipe as various bans are due to be announced in the next day or so.

One of those battery powered jet washers with the bucket feed pipe sounds like the way to go.

One of the benefits of living in rural west Dorset in a village with a private water supply, I can wash to my hearts content ( but as its dry, nothing is dirty enough to wash) :frusty6:

We get our water from a company called Affinity. They get our water from bore holes. They’ve told us no hosepipe bans for their customers.

I hope thats the case - we are the same - fresh water from the Chilterns, but we have had hosepipe bans before.

Just as the BBC said Sussex and Kent had a blanket hosepipe ban we got a text from them to say that there is no restrictions for us.

On the subject of cleaning in this heat all the more important to rinse immediately with 0ppm. Not being keen on the waste that Raceglaze (and similar) generate I use these guys in the U.K.

I'm not in anyway affiliated with them, rather, I just like the simplicity and economics of it.

I pick up 200L twice a year and use a watering can with a fine rose. Its only for rinsing and it provides a nice steady flow. Each to their own.

And I used more water wetting and rinsing with a bucket than a hose pipe!
