360trev is The expert on the 360, so if he's looking at the MC Stradale via AV then expect amazing things! The 360 mods AV can do regarding engine timing, ECUs etc (ie split comfort dampers from other Sport functions) are super impressive and are night and day from an "average" 360

I'm surprised when told much can be obtained from remaps on non-turbo sports cars. But will be really happy to be proven wrong on this one. I was told at my MD that at least the earlier strads were very tuned from the factory, producing a chunk more than the spec sheets. But again, pure blah blah. A dyno or one-on-one comparison before/after will be the decider.
My new fave thread :)

@dan Got his GTS remapped and I don’t think there was any (much) difference from standard.

That said, there isn’t much @voicey doesn’t know about Masers, so be worth getting his view.

Didn’t Matt say he was developing a remap that he hoped would deliver noticeable gains ?

From first hand experience, I don't believe a word of it.

When I had my GTS remapped me and Matt proved without a doubt that there was zero real word gain.

In comparison, when I had my 335d (twin turbo) remapped it gained over 100bhp, from 320 to 440 and a truckload of torque, and even then I could only just feel it.

Hi all, I don't know how helpful this will be.
As some of you know I've swapped Maserati 4.7 engine into my TVR. The engine was on the pallet and it said it was from 2009 Granturismo auto. When I did mapping on the rolling road it did pushed just shy of 470hp with custom made unequal manifolds (unfortunately no space there fo equal length) and two 200 cell sport cats and straight through after that. When de-cated it's pushing just over 480hp. If Strad engine is slightly different then I think it's possible to achieve something close to 500hp.
PS.
On the graph you can see that he lifted off to early (about 200rpm before cut out) btw my car weights just under 1300 kg with manual gearbox and only driving aids are power steering and your foot so it's scary/fun to drive

Spot on. I had my 360 engine rebuilt, retimed and mapped by AV/Aldous. It’s a totally different car to drive. I’ve had that car for 19 years now and done 107,000 miles in it pre rebuild so I think I am fairly qualified to comment on Trev360/Aldous’s ECU upgrades. They are not just some overlay map with a supposed 5-10 bhp increase. It totally transformed my car.

I personally don't believe the mapping was done to prevent the cars being 'faster than a ferrari; I suspect it is purely a reliability and environmental decision by Maserati to not seek max BHP from the engine.

This I think is spot on - to reflect the fact that it is a GT. And Maserati have done a great job in mpg and reliability IMO and I am happy to sacrifice outright power for that.
