Well I know this is not a Lambo , what does anyone think of the Audi S8 with its 5.2 litre bored v10 lambo engine...

From a practical daily drive motor perspective!!???

Don't kill me for asking this guys, just looking for sensible opinions.. :1398:

I am really not a fan of Audi....Every one I've driven has felt sterile.....But its a fine car with that engine and will go like stink.........For me it would be an M5 Touring but thats just me........The Audi is well built, . lovely inside and very fast......

S8 is an awesome exec-car, Audi are more uncommon compared to other german cars and I think one of the better ones

Hi Enzo,

Well my thoughts entirely, I find its cool because its so non run of the mill... I like the M5 as well, but never liked the last shape, current car is great!!! It 's not as quick as the M5 clearly, but has more space, better load capacity,etc... yes goes like stink!!! and I just love the lambo sound and performance combined with the Quattro sure footed handling... for a big Audi ASF car, it really should not handle as well as it does, its crazy!!!.... And being the stormstrooper car that it is, it will sit on a motorway at 180Kph all day long and never miss a beat...

So I bought one..... get it in a few weeks time... very rare down here,, as Aussies love their Merc & AMG's BMW... and as I like to be just a bit different,,, well it fits me fine...:thumb1:

Hi Loz,

Very Ronseal,,, I liked that,,, made me laugh, the wife said I must be getting old,,,,as well!!!

An RS6 avant would have been nicer, but they want to much money for them down here...

I just love the idea of owning a V10 !!! Did I say it had a V10 oh yeah!! well its a V10

Ozzie,

You did say it was a V10 didnt you Ozzie , thought i misheard you for a mo , me i fell in love with the R8 V10 , dont know if i could fall in love with a car that was oh so perfect , besides the Italian Misteress is extremely jealous and might kick up a fuss, if your tickers fine then i'd hang on a little to make sure , if its like my body and bits falling off here and there i'd go for it , far too many cars outhere yet to be tried and loved

About half the price you poor lot have to pay,, which is why I am making the most of it while I can afford to...

I will now have a Maserati V8 & Hybrid Italian in the garage with a Lambo DNA V10... I need to be careful though,, otherwise Matt will kick me of the site for playing with german toys... On the flip side, its not my fault Audi got their hands on the Lambo name, infact I think it has worked out rather well for all parties concerned. Italian or otherwise...

You would not have a R8 V10 without lambo simple fact of life.

Good point Loz, best I keep them in separate garages.. and bring them out at different times... I would never sell my masser.... it is just to good... the "Horch" "listen car " i.e. Audi could learn a a thing or two from the Maserati about soul.

yes it has toys /gadgets and when its wet would probably get from point to point faster without doubt, which is why it will make such a good day car. But it never sounds like a masser or talks to you over the cambers when hooking up a corner, thats what puts a smile on my face...

Ozzie

PS> The V10 does have a fabulous sound under full song and is so smooth at part throttle speeds or idle.. but thats the DNA talking... with german fuel injection & balance shafts to keep it all sweet... as we move into this new period in motoring where fuel consumption and CO 2 ommissions become the new targets, we have left behind some beautiful V8 V10 & V12 engines, never to be repeated in my lifetime,,, so I am bagging a few so I don't need to buy a new car anymore...
