Sunday Ramble

So my Sunday finds me having lunch with friends at a winery in the Yarra Valley, about an hour our of Melbourne. Fantastic weather, great friends, fantastic food and a very cheeky pinot. Who could ask for a better day.

On departing the winery near Healesville I thought I would take a scenic route home and had a quick look at google maps on my iPhone. From where I was I could take the 'Black Spur' through Narbethong and then come back via Warburton via the 'Acheron Way'. Perfect.

Now here comes the advice. When looking at google maps, an 'A' road does not always mean the road is bitumen all the way through. Although it was a very scenic and tranquil journey, the 10 kilometres of gravel road was not well received. However, we made it and I have a few pics to share.

Sounds like a great day Richard but you're a braver man than me driving her on gravel!

Driving through the gravel was not through choice. 3rd gear, let alone 4th was very rarely selected. I don't think there is any chance of me winning the ARC in her this year.

That colour .....still so gorgeous.........we have the outback over here where I live....it will be even more outback when they hold the G8 summit in a few weeks time......roads closed, residents needing passes to go through checkpoints, lake out of bounds.........
